Check out the videos at Microsoft Surface site. They look really amazing, specially the external object interaction. Just think about it, you go to a restaurant and the menu is the table, and then you just place your credit card on it and split the bill. I really like this form of interaction for specific types of usage. I wonder if this project has anything to do with this, looks pretty similar.
