Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull : my take on it

I’m not going to destroy the new Indiana Jones like some people did, I don’t think it was a bad movie, it was just not what I expected. I think almost everything about the film is well done (exception to those rodent cameos, what was that?), my problem was the basis of the story (don’t worry, I wont spoil), the previous Indy movies always challenged history, in a creative way, this one fails on that matter, picking up a subject that is just not that interesting any more since it has been done so many times.
After watching the trailer I was kind of expecting a movie with a lot of exaggerated actions scenes, but gladly there are only a few and they are well done, ok maybe one particular scene involving water falls wasn’t…
Was I disappointed? Not really, I wasn’t expecting much, but I wasn’t entirely satisfied either, I think that task was pretty much impossible, we watched Indiana Jones as kids, and to our eyes those movies are flawless, and untouchable, still, two hours of fun entertainment.
One final thought, Indy still kicks Tomb Raider or National Treasure’s ass!

I also enjoyed the movie, despite it not being as good as the previous ones imo.
Some critics tore the movie apart just because it was not the old ones. And yes the core of the story wasn’t as cool as the previous ones, but it was a decent enough movie despite that.

(And Tomb Raider and National Treasure? Do then even qualify to compete with Indy?
