When is this nonsense going to stop, first the french fries, now email cant be called by its birth name in France. The official designation is “courriel”, that stands for “courier electronique”. Of course the use this expression will not prevail, most French will still use the old international expression “email”.
Some people at my school have this approach, replacing expressions used for so long by new ugly Portuguese terms, like replacing “web site” by “sitio na rede”, witch is absolutely hideous.
Of course we should preserve our language, but not by replacing international terms with weird sounding made up expressions.
People are coming up with some weird cultural barriers, I thought the purpose of evolution was to bring barriers down. Stuff like this does not help.
